How do vascular laser treatments work?
The pulsed dye laser generates a powerful yet gentle burst of laser light at a specific frequency, selectively absorbed by blood vessels rather than the skin. This targeted approach ensures that the skin remains undamaged, focusing solely on eliminating excess vessels beneath the skin. Consequently, this minimizes the risk of scarring and eliminates the need for surface healing.
How much do treatments cost?
Treatment cost is dependent on the condition and size of the area being treated. Stratica Dermatology offers complimentary consultations with our specialists to discuss your unique treatment plan and cost details.
What can I expect after a treatment?
Some patients experience redness immediately after treatment, but this usually goes away in a few hours. Occasionally, a small bruise called purpura may occur; this typically disappears in 3-5 days. Your provider will additionally provide you with detailed aftercare instructions during your appointment.
When can I expect results?
Most patients can expect results immediately. Your results are additionally dependent on the area being treated and the number of sessions needed. Discuss with your provider about your unique needs and treatment result timeline.
Are the treatments painful?
During the treatment, there is a slight “snapping” sensation. To alleviate this sensation there is a cooling system built into the laser to cool the skin. Most patients report a sensation similar to a mild sunburn after the treatment. This sensation can last for 1-3 days.
